Important Privacy Update

As of February 5, 2024, to enhance the privacy of buyers by limiting the sharing of personal information, Etsy has implemented a significant change concerning the access of buyer email addresses via their API.

What’s Changing?

Etsy's update means you will no longer be able to access or send buyer email information through the API, as SyncSpider is no longer authorized for this data. This change may impact your ability to create invoices, send order confirmations, or perform other tasks that require buyer email data, as it restricts sharing to protect buyer privacy.

How Does This Affect Your SyncSpider Integration?

If your SyncSpider tasks or workflows include retrieving buyer email addresses from Etsy, be aware that these email fields will no longer be included in the response unless explicit approval for accessing this data has been granted by Etsy.

What You Can Do?

You can still view buyer email addresses directly in Etsy's Shop Manager by navigating to the order details and accessing the buyer information under their name.
