Description

When using SyncSpider to send stock quantity updates to Etsy, you may encounter an issue with products that have a stock quantity of zero. Etsy does not allow listings with zero stock quantities to remain active.  As a result, listings with zero stock are automatically deactivated to prevent overselling and ensure unavailable products are not visible to customers.

Understanding the Limitation

Etsy requires all listings to have at least one variation with a stock quantity greater than zero to stay active. If all variations in a listing are set to zero, Etsy will deactivate the listing to ensure unavailable items are not visible to customers.

How SyncSpider Handles This Limitation

When SyncSpider detects a stock quantity of zero for all variations in a product, it automatically deactivates the listing on Etsy. This prevents overselling and ensures the product is unavailable for purchase. When stock is replenished, SyncSpider will reactivate the listing automatically.

Important Note: In edit mode on Etsy, sellers will notice that at least one variation always shows a quantity above zero, even if the overall product is deactivated due to other variations having zero stock. This behavior is a safeguard to ensure at least one variation remains potentially active.
