1. What is Copy Custom Field?
Copy Custom Field allows you to quickly copy any custom field from the tasks inside your organization into a newly created task. This particular custom field saves you time and energy when trying to replicate the same fields over and over, so you can focus on more important tasks at hand.
2. Example and how to use it
We will be creating a new task within our organization and would like to make use of the “Copy Custom Field” option for it. This will enable us to copy all the fields we need from any task within the same organization.
Step 1: Navigate to the Custom Fields panel in the bottom left corner and click on the + sign.
Step 2: Select the "Copy custom field" option.
Step 3: Name your custom field and select the field you would like to copy inside your task.
This will open up a list of all existing custom fields in your organization and you can select which one you would like to use for your new task.
Step 4: Once the desired custom field is selected press Done.
Step 5: The result.
We can now see that the selected custom field has been successfully copied within our Task:
3. Important Note
Please note that when copying custom fields, it is essential to ensure that the Task has the same source data attributes that the custom field could reference. Failure to do so may result in the custom fields not working as expected.
