How to Optimize Your Bulk Operation Consumption?

Whatever package you have, optimization of your bulk operation consumption is always helpful. You can decrease the number of operations, and therefore lower your costs. We are here to make your business as efficient as possible, considering reducing costs and increasing productivity.

Therefore, here are 3 simple ways you can use for optimizing your operation consumption:

  1. Adapt your Attributes to the SyncSpider calculation system - The most straightforward way would be to have 10, 20, 30 Attributes since we calculate 10 Attributes as one operation. If you have 13, 18, or 19, it will be considered as 2 operations, regardless of having only 3, 8, or 9 in the second set. So, go through the list of your Attributes; maybe you don’t need them all. It would be cost-effective to transfer only those most essential for your business.

  1. Optimize Task runs - SyncSpider will execute the tasks you have created, but sometimes you don’t need updates as frequently as initially. Let’s say you set the task to run every minute or every 15 minutes, and instead of that, you might consider reorganizing and making that task run every hour or half an hour. That would decrease the number of tasks and automatically the number of operations.

  1. Use incremental updates whenever possible - What does it mean? That means, whenever it’s possible, you should sync only updates, not the whole base. As you might presume, it encompasses a lower number of operations, and therefore you don’t exceed your Task runs limits. It can also be handy when it comes to keeping track of your orders because that way, you eliminate any chances of doubling your orders.

On top of these, we have two more tips:

  • If you are transferring the whole catalog, first run it manually to see how long it will take for the action. If the entire action takes 45 or 90 minutes, you won’t set this task to run every 15 minutes, but more like every hour or two.

  • If you use Docan or Woocomerce or any other self-hosted website, it’s best to create two tasks - one that would transfer the whole catalog and the other which would run updates. As you might guess, the first task is more extensive, and you can set it to run once a day (in the evening time, for example), and the other one could run every hour or two.

That way, you optimize your bulk operation consumption and use SyncSpider in the most efficient way!
